Tapestry Builder
Tapestry Builder
An AI-powered, experiential marketing product for Compassion International.
An exciting aspect of Compassion’s upcoming rebrand is the integration of children’s drawings from the field. We’ll have over 5000 illustrations, drawn by the kids in the field and vectorized by our designers, each representing different aspects of their lives.
Compassion wants to develop a tool to compile these illustrations into a truly unique “tapestry,” which the user can then use for marketing, personalized items, and storytelling.
The goal is to build a tangible connection between the lives of the children in our program and our sponsors.
Defining the need
How might we allow users to build tapestries that represent them, using our children’s illustrations?
Role:
Design
Prototyping
Ideation
We kick off every project with ideation - depending on the project that looks like some combination of workshopping, competitive research, and wireframing.
Although mobile-first was our priority for prototyping and testing, I also made sure to test how our design concepts flexed to desktop sizes.
Minimum Lovable Product - Prototyping
Due to some unforeseen budget issues, and the complexities of testing a Figma prototype, we opted to test a simple interactive coded version.
This meant removing any actual AI elements for now, and utilizing a large library of questions and “choose your own adventure” style intermediary questions to help fake the personalization.
Next Steps: Validating the concept
Once we’ve completed development and testing (currently underway), we’ll move onto the final steps of our process: Validate, Develop, Deliver, and Evaluate.
